Bob
Ferrari is a 15-year veteran of the convergence industry, with executive level experience driving corporate strategy, business
development, and strategic marketing for both global corporations and emerging start-ups.
Bob currently serves
as Managing Director of Convergence Ventures, a venture strategy, business development and strategic marketing firm based
in the Boston area. The firm engages with innovative entrepreneurs and investors, with the goal of cultivating early stage
concepts, products and services into commercially successful business opportunities. Core competencies are driving revenue
and funding efforts. The firm’s focus in the areas of Emerging Electronics & Computing Devices, WiFi Solutions,
Mobile Devices & Content, Home Networking, and Online Games.
Prior to Convergence
Ventures, Bob held three prestigious tenures in the convergence sectors. As VP Sales & Marketing at Philips Electronics
(NYSE:PHG), he managed the launch of CD-I, WebTV and DVD in the US, and the company’s development and launch of Information
Appliances & Services on a global basis. As Chief Strategy Officer at Merinta Inc, he managed the business development
and strategic marketing efforts for the company’s embedded client software, server-side management software, and content
solutions. In this role Bob was responsible for developing key partnerships with CE, STB, PC, and Mobile Device OEMs, ODMs,
Network Operators, and Content Providers. As VP of Business Development at Ziplink Networks (NSDQ:ZIPL), Bob managed the company’s
strategic partnerships and marketing strategies with network operators, content providers, and OEMs in North America.
Bob is an experienced
and knowledgeable industry speaker on convergence technology topics such as; emerging consumer electronics, mobile entertainment
& content, WiFi solutions, home networking, digital media, and games. His high profile speaking tenures include; the International
Consumer Electronic Show, Digital Hollywood, Jupiter Media’s WiFi Planet, Game Market Watch, I-Wireless Forum, CTIA
Mobile & Entertainment, and Digital Media’s Game & Mobile Forum.
